Spent about 2 years self teaching 3-4 different 3d modelling programs and Unreal Engine 4.

I made two original characters. Androgynous Half Faerie twin brothers. Because I have such niche inspiration I know If I don’t make what I want for myself, no one ever will. :o

Animated/rigged with Maya A.R.T. Tools plugin for unreal engine 4. Modeled in maya and zbrush. UVM done in 3ds max 2012. Sorry No animation previews atm because I don’t currently have a capture program.

Not super high poly because I still have windows 7 and a 10 year old computer. Each character is about 30-40k polygons. Hair is about 20k.

I am glad I have a skillset for this atm. Maybe I’ll find work later. If anybody knows people looking for a 3d artist that can create some simple weapons and hair models for UE4(Sorry, not really any experience with unity). Let me know.. I’d like to learn and grow from here. Hopefully getting a new computer soon.

I recently discovered that there was a really easy to use program that extracts models and textures from FF14. I know… I’m late to the party with that, I don’t mod MMORPGs so I never know what’s available.

So anyways, I thought it would be neat to put my “Warrior of Light” and Emet-Selch into Unreal Engine 4. I’m new with learning UE4 so this was an attempt.

It’s the same models and normal map textures extracted from the game. Although I did need to create new skeletal rigs, and a bunch of new texture maps(New diffuse, Scatter, Roughness, Specular, alphas, displacement etc.) for the shaders to work right. It was still a lot of work surprisingly.

The hair I got lazy with, I didn’t paint vertex colours or create a flow map(I used the normal map from the game in place of the flow map which sort of worked a little bit). Hair in UE4 I find takes a lot of extra work. But hair always does for pretty much anything.

The skin and hair shaders I’m using are from the “Digital Human” UE4 tutorial for creating realistic characters that I edited slightly.

……the extractor also hasn’t been updated since HW I think… so trying to find Shadowbringers stuff with it… was unbelievably tedious.

Not Sims related, but still sort of mod related.

Alt Male version of Corrin From “Fire Emblem Fates”. I renamed him Lucian in my game. I just got it the other day, so I’m only starting atm. My main goal right now is to hook up with Niles… cuz Lucian is gay AF.

I vanished again for a while. Unfortunately over the end of March-April I was very very depressed and wasn’t doing all that well. It sort of came out of nowhere and hit really hard. I also had a lot of anxiety regarding my art, since I had completely neglected it for nearly a year to do 3D modelling and Sims stuff. I felt that I really needed to go back to that… which is mostly what I’m doing currently. I’m not sure when I’ll return to game modding right now. Maybe when I feel a bit more comfortable with my 2D art stuff.

Art tumblr is Here: http://lunariseclipse-art.tumblr.com/

It’s more active than my sims one is for the time being.

I haven’t uploaded art in so long. I finally drew something that I don’t totally dislike. It’s one of the characters I made for a Dungeons and Dragons campaign I was playing with friends.

His design is inspired a bit by Count D from “Petshop of Horrors” if that’s not already obvious. I really wanted to play as the Yuan-ti race, but the original stats are very OP (a lot of the playable monster races are a bit OP, but Yuan-ti Pureblood is pretty bad). I ended up using an edited version of the race with the stats nerfed slightly so it wouldn’t be unfair. He’s still pretty strong though… A Yuan-ti Charlatan Warlock is scary even with modified stats….

*Ignore the sloppy texture ATM. I roughed it in Zbrush to use as a base/guide for photoshop.

I spent forever on this mesh, mostly because I find the morphs in Sims 4 very difficult to get working okay when using a brand new mesh. Especially when the polycount is higher than the standard sims 4 models. The worst part was the bottom because I wanted to be able to see up underneath without the legs being able to cut through… It’s working pretty okay now so I can finally work on texturing. It may still be a while before I upload though, since I need to create the LOD models still as well.

It’s for male sims teen-elder.

It does have a female morph, although I’m not sure how that looks right now since I haven’t checked it in-game yet.

It’s a full body mesh, but tights/socks and any sort of shoe can be used with it.

I updated the LOD models for LODs 2 and 3. To reduce load on people’s computers. So if you have already dwonloaded this hair, just re-download the updated version to avoid any issues.

This is a new hairstyle for the sims 4. It is based off of a very similar hairstyle found in the “Final Fantasy XIV” Character creator.

-Contains all Hat cuts.
-Contains the 18 Main colours.
-Is available for male and female sims teen to elder.
-Is flagged for random.
-Is flagged to work properly with the EP01 detective career.
-In colour binned with proper sort order.
-Uses the Glass + SimsSkin shaders.

WIP Update.

This hair took way longer that I thought… because I wanted the textures to be as high quality as possible without using the HQ mod… and with limited texture space(only 512x512) it meant that I needed to experiment a lot and also had to individually uvmap each alpha card separately… and a lot of this hair is asymmetrical, so I couldn’t even mirror too much.  Next hair I think I’ll create something a bit more simple.. something without a zigzag part down the middle. O.o That was the thing that made this take so long…

Anyways, the model itself is nearly done, but I still have to create hat cuts, different colours, and fit it so female frames can use it too. I think it looks pretty cute though. And I’m also happy that the full hair model is created by me and I just used some screen shots for reference. As much as I like editing the DA hairstyles, I do honestly prefer creating my own stuff from scratch.

I started working on Zevran’s outfit on Sunday, and I have a decent amount of the body mesh done… but on Tuesday, the new patch for FF14 dropped and I decided to play it a bit again (I haven’t played FF14 in months). I noticed they had this really cute hairstyle added for guys.

I thought it was so adorable actually that I thought of maybe creating a similar style for the sims 4… on top of that, they added this really cute Chinese style dress/robe that men can wear as well, and I wanted to make something like that too… perhaps I should update my “Count D” sim (omg so long ago!!) from sims 2? I’d like to make him a pretty new robe now. O.o

I really want to take a little break from the DA stuff and focus on something else honestly, since I’m feeling a bit burned out. Although I’ve done a fair amount on Zevran’s armour, it’s still a complex mesh and so much work still needs to go into it. If I’m not really in the mood for it, I won’t do as good a job. I’ll go back to it afterwards for sure.

Also… if anyone plays FF14, are there any hairstyles you think would be super cute for men to have in sims 4? Something that hasn’t been done to death already?
